GENERAL INFORMATION
Where is the South Benton Resource Center located?
We are located at 650 Orchard Street, Monroe, OR 97456. Our campus includes the Food Pantry, Heritage Hall, and the Kepi Nak-Nak Café.

When are you closed?
We are generally closed on major holidays that fall on a Monday or Friday. Please check our calendar for specific holiday closures, including the weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas.
FOOD PANTRY SERVICES
What are the Food Pantry hours?
We are open for distribution on Tuesdays from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM; on the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th Thursdays from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM; and on the 3rd Thursday of the month from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM.
Who is eligible to receive food?
Our pantry serves individuals and families residing, working, or engaging within the Monroe School District and its surrounding areas. We operate on a dignified, shopping-style model where you can choose the items that best fit your household’s needs.
Can someone else pick up food for me?
Yes. If you cannot visit the pantry in person, you may send an authorized representative. We provide the necessary forms to authorize a proxy, and this authorization is valid for one year unless noted otherwise.
What is the Grow a Row initiative?
This is a community program encouraging local gardeners and farmers to plant an extra row of vegetables (or even a pot on a balcony) to donate to the pantry. Fresh produce donations are accepted during our regular distribution hours.
KEPI NAK-NAK CAFÉ & COMMUNITY COMMONS
What is the Kepi Nak-Nak Café?
The Café is our “community living room”—a vibrant hub designed for connection and nourishment. It is a welcoming space to enjoy coffee, breakfast, or lunch with neighbors.
When is the Café open?
We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Do you host community meals?
Yes! We host a Community Breakfast on the 1st Saturday of every month, and a Community Lunch on the 3rd Wednesday of every month.
HERITAGE HALL RENTALS
Can I rent Heritage Hall for a private event?
Absolutely. Heritage Hall is available for weddings, performances, arts showcases, and other private events. It features a blend of historic charm and modern amenities.

VOLUNTEERING & DONATIONS
How can I volunteer?
We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers! Opportunities include sorting food, staffing the pantry, assisting with community meals, and helping with building upkeep. To get started, click here.
How can I donate money?
Financial contributions keep our programs running. You can donate online via the Donate link, by mail to South Benton FResource Center, PO Box 396, Monroe, OR 97456, or in-person via an anonymous cash donation at Umpqua Bank in Monroe (Account #2777).
Do you accept clothing or household items?
Yes, through Vina’s Closet, a free community thrift store located on-site. We accept donations of clean clothes, shoes, hygiene items, and small household goods. These items are provided free of charge to those in need.
